Running Physical Therapy in Austin, TX

Runners come to us when recurring hip, knee, ankle, or foot issues keep interrupting training. Instead of guessing at the cause, we evaluate your movement patterns, running gait, and tissue capacity — then build a plan that keeps you on the road. One-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every session.

What Happens When Running Injuries Keep Coming Back

You Lose Weeks of Training Every Time It Flares

Another setback means another slow rebuild. You're losing fitness, consistency, and confidence while waiting to see if this time is different.

You Keep Treating Symptoms Instead of the Source

Massage, stretching, and rest help temporarily — but as soon as mileage climbs again, the same pain returns. Nobody has explained what's actually driving it.

You're Not Sure What's Safe to Push

Every training decision comes with doubt. You back off intensity or skip runs entirely because you don't have a clear picture of what your body can handle right now.

What Runners Say About Working With Us

Runners and active adults in Austin who got back to consistent training after working through a structured, root-cause plan.

Dr Gabriel is an attentive, caring, intelligent and thorough doctor. He has been helping my 13 yo son who plays soccer return to playing without pain, by meticulously diagnosing the root cause. He first set out to mitigate the pain, then has continued to help my son work to strengthen the areas of the body that are causing the issue so as to avoid future pain. He’s truly an excellent physician and therapist.

Gabriel, was awesome. He gave me a very thorough one hour evaluation. He also included my run analysis. He was able to explain what was off and what I needed to do to fix my pain. Additionally, he listened to all of my concerns and answered any questions that I had. He is not only knowledgeable but it’s evident he cares deeply about his patients. I believe that in his care he will help you increase function & reduce your pain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about running physical therapy at Your PT Doc and what to expect.

Do I need a referral or imaging before I start?

You don't need a referral or imaging to begin. In many cases, movement and gait analysis explains what's happening better than an MRI alone. If imaging would help clarify your picture, we'll let you know — but it's not required to start building a plan.

How is running PT at Your PT Doc different from traditional physical therapy?

Every session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who focuses on what's actually driving your symptoms — not generic protocols or shared clinic time. We use running gait analysis, strength benchmarks, and progressive loading so your plan reflects how your body moves under real training demands.

How long does it take to return to running?

It depends on the injury, your current load, and how your body responds. Most runners see meaningful progress in the first few sessions. We track objective milestones and update your plan as you improve — so you always know where you stand and when it's safe to push.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a cash-based physical therapy clinic — no insurance required. We can provide superbills for potential reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits if your plan includes them.
